November 2009: The firm is contracted by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) to support its expanding Pharmaceutical Ingredients Verification Programs. These important programs assure drug product and nutritional supplement customers/patients that the contained active and inactive ingredients meet the USP's strict standards for cGMP production, quality control, and labeling.
August 2009: The firm is engaged by a major food products company to develop a new analytical strategy for the early detection of deliberate adulterants in food ingredients in response to the well-publicized contamination of such products with melamine.
June 2009: Dr. Malawer is engaged as an expert witness in a case involving the infringement of intellectual property relating to a personal care product. The extent of Dr. Malawer's knowledge of pyrrolidone polymer chemistry and material properties / characterization was key to his selection.January 2009: Malawer & Associates Consulting enters a partnership agreement with O Vicus Professional Services to provide technical evaluation, business development and financing assistance for young “cleantech” companies in North America.
December 2008: Dr. Malawer produced a 14 hour, 2-day short course for the American Chemical Society (ACS) entitled “Introduction to Process Analytical Chemistry” intended for chemists, process engineers and management in both the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The course is first delivered to a live audience in Woodbridge, NJ in February 2009.
January 2008: A review article written by Dr. Malawer on the analytical technique pyrolysis gas chromatography is published in the January 2008 edition of the Cosmetiscope, the monthly news magazine of the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC).
December 2007: Dr. Malawer received the Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) credential from the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
December 2007: Malawer & Associates Consulting is engaged to perform 3rd party cGMP supplier auditing for a virtual pharmaceutical producer of well-known OTC drug products. Dr. Malawer acts as lead auditor.
November 2007: The firm takes on its first significant project in the area of process analytical chemistry for a major inorganic chemicals producer wishing to improve the yields of its processes and reduce cost. A major program involving on-line Raman spectroscopy is coordinated by Dr. Malawer.
August 2007: Malawer & Associates Consulting is formed as a limited liability company in the state of New Jersey.
